What is web software that would be programmed specially for writing articles on your websites?

For example such thing is wordpress, but it does not look well, because of poor design and navigation. I would like the page to look like economist.com or so, with tools to upload .doc files directly as a new article and do not distorted. It can be both paid or free. Thanks for any suggestions!
